Living In Balance

Spring is here and summer is just around the corner. Time seems to be flying by faster and faster. Are you taking time out from the busyness of your life to rejuvenate and recharge your energies? Women are good at taking care of others and often put off taking care of themselves until everyone else’s needs are met. Here are some tips for living a life in balance:

For Men: Remind your partner to take some time for herself to relax. This is good for several reasons. First, you will score points for thinking of her well-being and encouraging her. Second, if she takes time for herself to relax, your communication is easier. In addition, reminding her that she is a role model for her children, (if applicable), could be a good prompter. When she feels more in balance with herself, she will be healthier, feel happier and be more understanding.

For Women: Be as good to yourself as you are to others. You deserve the same treatment. Indulge yourself in the things that bring you joy and pleasure. If your partner encourages you to take time out for yourself, tell him know how much you appreciate his support. This will encourage him to continue being supportive. Having our partner, or even a friend, remind us that we deserve time to relax, may be just the little nudge we need, so don’t miss an opportunity to express your appreciation.

Whether you are a man or a woman, living a life in balance doesn’t happen by accident. Be in charge of how you spend your time, who you spend it with and how much energy you reserve for yourself. No one will do it for you. Be the cause in your life and not at the effect of what happens. You will reap the benefits. You will create healthy habits. You will feel good.
